According to information from the mayor's office, the city leader instructed to immediately resume road works and complete the asphalt laying within the established deadlines.
Akaev also outlined several important tasks:
- to resume all major infrastructure projects in the southern capital, despite funding issues;
- to eliminate illegal structures that hinder the construction of road facilities;
- to expand pedestrian zones and create safe conditions for the passage of citizens.
He noted that the suspension of work harms the interests of the city's residents.
“It has been only seven days since my appointment, and throughout this week, I have been visiting this site repeatedly. The work is at a standstill. We do not have the right to abandon the initiated project. Even if we have to work with our own resources, we must complete it. This is extremely important for improving the transportation situation,” said the mayor of Osh.
Akaev added that, thanks to the support of the president, the city received the necessary equipment from a special fund, which will help speed up the repair process and address the issue of prolonged works.
The city leader also noted that negotiations with the owners of houses slated for demolition will continue, but “none of the initiated projects will be halted.”
