There are more than 40 children in the country suffering from spinal muscular atrophy
A social initiative called "SMA Kyrgyzstan" has been launched by the "Unity of Opportunities" foundation, as reported by the organization itself.
According to the foundation's information, more than 40 children in the country suffer from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Support from medical professionals and the government allows them to receive modern treatment, including the drug Risdiplam.
However, treatment alone is not a complete solution. Children need daily use of devices for respiratory support, coughing assistance, standers, and other rehabilitation tools. Without these devices, therapy cannot provide the expected results," the statement emphasizes.
In light of the above, the foundation has announced the start of a fundraising campaign to acquire the necessary equipment for children across Kyrgyzstan. The organization guarantees that the fundraising process and the transfer of equipment will be conducted openly and transparently.
