The payouts were made under the state insurance program
In Bishkek, families who found themselves without housing were paid 1 million soms each as insurance compensation. This was reported by the State Insurance Organization.
These payments were made under contracts signed by local residents with this insurance company.
The organization noted: "As of today, 25% of all real estate in Bishkek is covered by state insurance. It is necessary to expand this coverage, as emergency situations can arise unexpectedly. We urge citizens to insure their property, both movable and immovable, as this is the only way to compensate for losses in case of unforeseen circumstances."
