Of those who participated in the survey, about a third reported that they underwent a medical examination before getting married, while slightly more participants indicated that they did not.
It is worth noting that 26% of respondents stated that they have regular check-ups with doctors once a year.

The initiative for introducing mandatory medical examinations was voiced by MP Nurchamal Torobekova earlier, emphasizing the importance of such a measure to prevent the spread of infectious diseases among spouses. She highlighted the issues related to migration.
“We observe cases where our young people get infected while, for example, in Moscow. Parents, even being aware of their son's illness, do not warn the bride, and as a result, the infection is transmitted to the wife,” the MP noted.
Some social media users expressed support for this initiative but raised questions about the healthcare system's readiness for such changes. Others advocated for the advisory nature of such examinations.
Additionally, the issue of the necessity of genetic testing for couples before conceiving a child has been raised in Kyrgyzstan, linked to the increasing cases of childhood disabilities. The government plans to open specialized screening centers across the country.
