"I Got a Pacemaker": Nurzhamal Manas kyzy Shared How Love Helped Her Through a Difficult Time
Nurzhamal, who is currently 23 years old, was born and spent her childhood in the village of Kurshab in the Uzgen district. She was born on April 5, 2002, and currently lives with her husband in Bishkek. Nurzhamal is a housewife, while her husband works.
After completing the 9th grade, Nurzhamal trained in manicure, and later studied medicine. At 22, she got married.
Nurzhamal met her future husband in 2024 in Istanbul, Turkey.
“I was raised by my grandparents because my mother worked in Turkey. When my mother invited me to Istanbul, I agreed. We met my future husband in a store, where he asked for my number, but I didn’t give it to him right away. My mother saw everything and later told me that he was a good guy and introduced us,” Nurzhamal recounts.
She remembers that once, while returning from work, her future husband invited her to a café.
“We were drinking tea, and he opened up to me, confessing his feelings. He suggested that we start dating, and that’s when everything began,” Nurzhamal shares her memories.
After that, Nurzhamal returned to Kyrgyzstan, but at first, her husband’s father was against their marriage.
“However, my husband was persistent: ‘I love her and I will marry her,’” she recounts.
In January, Suleiman came to Kyrgyzstan for Nurzhamal, and in February they had their nikah. According to the traditions of the Kyrgyz people, they held a small wedding, and a big wedding, if God wills, is still ahead,” she adds.
Nurzhamal notes that her parents were supportive of her choice.
The couple also faced difficult situations.
“Once at the Osh market, some people mistakenly thought we were not married and caused a scandal. We went to the police. In the end, they apologized and paid a fine,” she recounts.
Suleiman Ishyk, her husband, was born in 1999 and is from Nigde, Turkey.
In May 2025, Nurzhamal underwent surgery, during which a pacemaker was installed. In June, they were involved in a car accident, and since then, despite all the difficulties, they are gradually recovering. “Now everything is fine with us,” she says.
Nurzhamal is currently taking care of household chores and running a blog.
“In the future, we want to be a strong family, develop our blog, and raise children in a good atmosphere,” she concludes.
