As part of the "Zhubaïlar" column, we will get to know an amazing couple from the rural district of Chon-Kemin, located in the Kemin region of the Chuy province. They are Ömürbek Taalaibek uulu and his wife Elvira Chimurbayeva Talantbekovna.
This love story began the moment they first met.
Recently, they became winners of the district competition "Önörlü ata, meerimduu apa," winning a prize in the "Exemplary Family" category ("үлгүлүү үй-бүлөө").
Ömürbek was born on July 4, 1991, in Kemin, while Elvira was born in 1992 in the village of Syn-Tash in the Issyk-Ata district.
"I am the eldest of three children in my family. Elvira and I tied the knot in 2012. We have three daughters and one son. Representatives of the village council suggested we participate in the competition, and we happily agreed, which ultimately led to our victory," Taalaibek uulu shared, adding words of gratitude to the organizers.
In his opinion, family values lie in mutual respect and understanding, as well as in the ability to cherish every moment spent together. "Creating a happy family requires trust and deep understanding between spouses," he noted.
Recalling his first meeting with Elvira, Ömürbek shared: "It happened in October 2011. I often traveled to Tokmok to sell livestock. One day, after finishing a sale, I decided to have lunch at a café and saw a beautiful girl there who immediately caught my attention. I couldn't take my eyes off her, and as I was leaving, I said, 'Hello, beautiful.' She responded to my greeting, and I asked if I could have her phone number. She replied that she didn't have one but wrote her number in my phone. I was on cloud nine.
But when I tried to call the next day, the number turned out to be unavailable. Those seven days of waiting felt like an eternity. When I returned to the market, I couldn't find Elvira at the café, but the staff helped me with her number. We started communicating, and soon I asked her out. She agreed. We spent four months together filled with bright moments, but when I invited her on dates, she sometimes declined. Everything changed when I suggested meeting her parents after the New Year. I came to her on January 1 with flowers and sweets, and she invited me into her home to meet her family.
During dinner, my future father-in-law asked me about the purpose of my visit, and I was taken aback. Noticing this, my future mother-in-law diverted his attention to another topic. In the evening, I was escorted to a taxi, and I stayed with my relatives in Tokmok. It turned out they knew her parents and confirmed that their family was good. In the end, we discussed the possibility of our wedding.
We gathered our parents at one of the cafés in Tokmok, where negotiations took place. On February 4, I picked up Elvira from her parents' house, and on February 11, we held our wedding in Kemin. We invited 270 people to the event, but over 300 guests ended up attending. We had unforgettable days and continue to live happily," he shared.
Ömürbek recalled several funny episodes from their life: "We have many interesting stories, but here are three of them. When we were dating, there was a time I couldn't reach Elvira. While rummaging through my phone, I found her father's number and called him. He said he was in the mountains and would pass on her number when he returned. When he came back, he told Elvira, 'Call that guy; he shocked me by calling me "ata" (father).' We still laugh when we remember that moment.
The second story happened when we were already married. I asked Elvira to bring a 'chylapchyn,' which in our district means a basin. She didn't understand what I meant and went outside looking for a 'chylapchyn.' We laugh when we recall this.
Another interesting story is related to my passion for horseback riding. I decided to participate in the national game alaman baige on my neighbor's horse. During the competition, my horse turned out to be too small, and I fell behind. My wife, waiting for me, saw me lagging behind everyone and couldn't hold back her laughter.
Now, in addition to raising children, Ömürbek and Elvira continue their studies. He completed his education at the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University and is currently studying at the Kyrgyz State University of Culture and Arts named after B. Beishenaliev. "Since childhood, I have been interested in art, but my parents wanted me to stay with them in the village, so I first got a degree in agriculture. Now I run the House of Culture in the village of Tegirmenti and will soon receive my second higher education in the field of culture," he added.
Elvira, for her part, graduated from the College of Arts with honors and became a Russian language teacher. She is currently pursuing her third higher education, studying social networks.
In his free time, Ömürbek tries to spend more time with his family. "I have many friends. We often go to the mountains, to lakes, or to the cinema," he concluded.
