A project to improve air quality worth $50 million is being implemented in Kyrgyzstan

Eleven monitoring stations will be installed across the country, and mobile laboratories will also be acquired.

The project aimed at improving air quality in Kyrgyzstan will be implemented with the support of the World Bank and has a budget of $50 million. This was reported by Asel Raimkulova, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Agricultural Policy and Environmental Protection.

Raimkulova noted that the necessary equipment for Kyrgyzhydromet has already been purchased as part of this project.

Currently, a tender is underway for the design and preparation of cost documentation for the creation of a modern center and laboratory that will analyze air pollution. The contract signing process is currently ongoing.

To ensure prompt monitoring of air quality, a contract has been signed for the acquisition of two mobile laboratories.

Technical documentation has also been prepared for the installation of 11 automatic monitoring stations, which will be located in cities such as Bishkek, Osh, Kara-Balta, Tokmok, and Cholpon-Ata. The documents are currently in the approval stage with the World Bank.
