Recently, the participants of the "Zhany Dem" group celebrated International Women's Day in an atmosphere of warmth and sincerity. The March 8 celebration became a true festival of emotions and joy.
On this day, the hall was filled with music and applause. The participants delighted the audience with creative performances: they sang songs, danced, and recited poetry. For many of them, it was their debut on stage, and their excitement quickly turned into joy thanks to the support of friends and mentors who assisted with the preparation.
Special participation in the concert was taken by the "Zhany Dem" group, whose heartfelt performances and friendly atmosphere made the celebration unforgettable. Vocal and dance instructors, such as Lunara Jumabek, Tynara Jumabaeva, and Khalida Dodobaeva, inspired the participants to develop their creative abilities and believe in themselves.
Such events remind us of an important truth: age is not just a number of years lived, but a rich life experience, wisdom, and the ability to support one another. Older adults value communication, warmth, and sincerity in relationships.
After the concert, the participants continued to socialize over a cup of tea, reminiscing about their youth and sharing impressions. In such moments, the strength of friendship and support is particularly felt. Many of them find significant meaning in such gatherings for their lives.
The "Active Longevity" program started in Bishkek in the fall of 2024 with the aim of supporting the activity and development of older adults. This project is implemented with the assistance of the public fund "Socium."
Program participants can not only receive consultations from specialists but also engage in various activities. Free courses in Kyrgyz and English, as well as digital literacy classes, are organized for them, teaching how to use smartphones and the internet.

Creative activities, including vocals, dance, drawing, and handicrafts, generate great interest. There are also classes in gymnastics, yoga, and Nordic walking to maintain health.
But perhaps the most valuable thing that people find in the program is new acquaintances and a sense of belonging to a friendly team. Many come not only for knowledge but also for social interaction. For some, it is a chance to escape loneliness, and for others, it is an opportunity to once again become part of an active and friendly group.
As Batma Estebesova, a doctor in the "Active Longevity" department and director of the "Socium" fund, emphasizes, such initiatives play an important role in the lives of older adults.
"We observe how our participants change when they start attending classes. They develop new interests, a social circle, and self-confidence. Our goal is to support older adults in their activity and show that their life experience is still valuable to society," she noted.

Currently, more than 260 pension-age residents of Bishkek have become participants in the "Active Longevity" program, and about 60 of them regularly attend classes and events. The community continues to grow, and people share information about where to spend time in interesting and useful ways.
The program organizers emphasize that the doors are open to all older adults who want to learn, socialize, and lead an active life. There are no age assessments in this program—instead, the life experience and wisdom of the participants create an atmosphere of respect and goodwill.
Sometimes, it only takes one step to make life shine with new colors: to attend a class, meet new people, engage in creativity, or simply spend time in good company. Perhaps, for someone, this is where a new, vibrant chapter of an active and joyful life will begin.
