The sumolok festival will take place in the Chui region, at the historical and archaeological complex "Burana Tower." This was reported by 24.kg, the event organizer Elnura Kuluyeva.
At the celebration, it is planned to set up 10 large cauldrons, in which participants will be able to cook this traditional dish together. Both local residents and guests of the region are invited.
The goal of the festival is to preserve national customs and unite people around the ancient spring ritual.
Sumolok is a traditional dish of the peoples of Central Asia, made from sprouted wheat, flour, and vegetable oil. It is cooked in large cauldrons for 10-12 hours, usually before the Nauryz holiday. The cooking process is accompanied by songs and dances, making sumolok a symbol of unity, abundance, and renewal.
