A new regional hospital is being built in the area
During his working trip to the Issyk-Kul region, the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaiev, got acquainted with the condition of several medical institutions, as reported by his press service.
During the visit, he toured the unified regional hospital in Karakol, which was built in 1968 and has a capacity of 550 beds. Kasymaiev inspected the intensive care and surgical departments, as well as assessed the medical equipment and the conditions under which patients receive treatment.
Additionally, he was presented with information about the construction of a new hospital wing with 350 beds, which is set to begin in 2024. The new complex will consist of eight blocks, and the project is expected to be completed in 2027.
Kasymaiev also instructed to provide young doctors working at this hospital with apartments under the state mortgage program, as well as to consider the possibility of constructing service housing for medical staff.
In addition, he visited the anti-plague department of the Center for Control and Prevention of Particularly Dangerous Infections. This institution was established in 1894, and its laboratory facilities do not meet modern biosafety standards. Following the visit, relevant authorities were instructed to consider the construction of a new building and the updating of the material and technical base.
