On November 26, it will be a year since the death of Ernst Akramov — an outstanding surgeon and philanthropist who dedicated his life to saving many people. In honor of this date, two significant events took place at the Chui Regional Hospital, named after this great physician — the opening of a new reception block for surgeons and a museum dedicated to Ernst Khashimovich Akramov.

Among those present at the event were Deputy Minister of Health Kaarmanbek Baidavletov, the hospital management, as well as friends and relatives of the surgeon, and all who knew Ernst Akramov.

The hospital director, Doctorbek Zhekshybaev, expressed: "Ernst Akramov is a person who managed to transform a small hospital into a large medical institution. Thanks to his initiative, a new surgical building was constructed, which now houses the museum and a conference hall where Akramov himself held seminars, as well as his library."

The Chui Regional Hospital opened the Akramov Museum and the reception block.
"Ernst Khashimovich constantly sought to stay updated with the latest medical advancements, implementing innovations in his practice. His deep understanding of anatomy and modern treatment methods earned him recognition both in Kyrgyzstan and beyond. He developed unique surgeries, many of which have no analogs in the world. This outstanding surgeon generously shared his knowledge and experience with young specialists. This year, the Chui Regional Hospital was named after Ernst Khashimovich Akramov," he added.

Cholpon Baekova, former chairwoman of the Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, emphasized: "Ernst Khashimovich is a true person with a capital letter. He dedicated his life to the health of our citizens, regardless of their age, gender, or status. He was a real doctor because he fought for the health of every person, regardless of their financial situation and other factors that, unfortunately, matter in our society today."

As noted by the hospital director, the opening of the new surgical reception block and museum was made possible thanks to the support of the International University of Kyrgyzstan. The sponsors for the creation of the museum included the surgeon's relatives, hospital staff, and his friends, as well as deputies of the IV convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh.

Galina Kulikova, a deputy of the IV convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh and a public figure, shared that the hospital staff, under the director's leadership, made significant efforts to assemble various photographs, commemorative medals, and gifts received from colleagues in other countries to display in the small museum space. In addition to the museum, a library was created, housing books written by Akramov himself, as well as those gifted to him.

"Many young people come here: students from medical educational institutions and others. Young doctors who will start working will begin by visiting this museum. They should know why the hospital is named after Ernst Akramov. Our generation knows who Akramov is. But the youth are not particularly aware. And when they see who Akramov is, they will understand why his name is given to the hospital," Kulikova noted.
