Changes to the Law "On the Status of Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh" are being considered in the Jogorku Kenesh.
Deputy Dastan Bekeshev presented a draft law "On Amendments to the Law 'On the Status of Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh'." This project was approved by the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Local Self-Government, and Regulations in the first reading.
The main goal of the document is to make precise amendments to the existing legislation. This includes clarifying the norms regarding the status of deputies, their rights, duties, and restrictions.
As Dastan Bekeshev explained, the changes concern Article 33 of the law "On the Status of Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh." He emphasized that the draft law aims to clearly define the permissible types of activities for deputies, in addition to their primary work, as well as eliminate the risks of unlawful deprivation of mandate due to uncertainty in the interpretation of terms such as "scientific," "pedagogical," and "creative" activities.
