117 official cars were handed over to cultural institutions

The head of the government reported a significant increase in budget allocations for culture in recent years.

At the ceremony for the handover of 117 official cars for cultural institutions, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, was present.

He noted that funding for culture in Kyrgyzstan shows steady growth. The budget for 2021 was 2.8 billion soms, and by 2025 it will increase to 6.9 billion soms, which is almost a 2.5-fold increase.

In 2026, 176.9 million soms were allocated for the purchase of 117 cars manufactured in the country. Last year, 851 million soms were directed towards the development of the material and technical base of cultural institutions.

Kasymaliev pointed out that a large part of the vehicle fleet in cultural institutions is outdated and needs to be updated. He is confident that the new cars will improve operations and serve as a catalyst for further development in this area.

Additionally, the Prime Minister emphasized that with the growth of the economy, the increase in funding for culture will continue. He also urged cultural institutions to enhance their profitability and participate more actively in financing their activities, setting such tasks for the relevant ministry.
