The platform discusses technologies, investments, and cooperation in the agricultural sector
An international business forum titled "Italy – Central Asia (C5) + Azerbaijan: Innovations, Regenerative Agriculture, and Digitalization for Sustainable Agroecosystems" has started in Tashkent. The event has gathered representatives from business, government structures, and international organizations.
Almaz Zheenaliev, Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, spoke at the forum and emphasized that agriculture is the main driver of the economy and an important element of sustainable development.
According to him, this sector generates more than 25% of all production and creates jobs for over 10% of the population. On average, these figures in the region fluctuate between 10-15%, while in some areas they reach 20%.
Zheenaliev also noted that the agricultural sector is undergoing transformation. The main priorities are the implementation of innovative solutions, digitalization, and improving management efficiency, which should contribute to increased productivity and added value of products.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of supporting farmers, developing educational initiatives, and expanding international cooperation, including technology exchange and the implementation of joint projects.
In his opinion, the further development of the agricultural sector directly depends on the application of modern solutions that can ensure food security and competitiveness of the countries in the region.
