Fuel prices in Kyrgyzstan remain stable despite the rise in March
According to Beish Satygulov, head of the regulated sectors department of the antimonopoly regulation service under the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the market for fuel and lubricants in Kyrgyzstan is demonstrating stability. At the beginning of 2026, the price of fuel dropped to 3 soms per liter, but with the onset of March, the traditional seasonal price increase began.

From January to March 2026, a decrease in prices for gasoline and diesel fuel was noted in the domestic market; the cost fluctuated from 3 soms per liter depending on the type of fuel and supplier. However, by the end of March, a gradual increase in prices began.

Nevertheless, as emphasized by the representative of the antimonopoly service, the price situation in the country remains under control. Fuel prices in Kyrgyzstan are lower than in neighboring countries such as Armenia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, and are comparable to prices in Belarus and Russia.

The agency actively monitors the market, interacting with oil traders, associations, and business representatives to prevent sharp price fluctuations and fuel shortages. According to the service's data, the profitability of market participants is approximately 1 som per liter.

In the event of intensified external factors, the authorities are ready to consider additional measures to stabilize the situation. Among the proposed solutions are agreements with Russian oil refineries to fix prices, possible tax burden reduction, subsidizing the industry, and providing preferential loans to suppliers for forming fuel reserves.
