The Union of Artists of Kyrgyzstan is planning to appeal to President Sadyr Japarov for support. This was announced by the head of the organization, Jakshybek Junushev.

He reminded that during the session of the city council on March 31, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev stated that the land plot where the House of Artists is located at Chuy Avenue, 108, will remain in municipal ownership. Artists and organizations located in the building will continue their activities as usual until final decisions are made regarding further actions in accordance with the law.

“However, we are not a municipal structure; we are a private organization. We ask to put all our title documents in order. According to the Land Code, since 1999 this land plot has belonged to us, not the municipality,” noted Jakshybek Junushev.

Additionally, it is worth mentioning that the presidential administration requested the Bishkek city hall to transfer this land plot to state ownership.

By the resolution of the municipality dated February 23, 2026, No. 52, the previous decision of the local self-government made on December 18, 1995, to transfer the land plot to the Union of Artists was canceled.

The legal team has appealed this decision to the Administrative Court, where the hearing is scheduled for April 16.

According to the city hall, the House of Artists was used for purposes other than intended: the building was rented out for commercial needs, including offices for a private notary, car sales, shops, and airline ticket offices.
