The State Committee for National Security is expecting a large-scale reform. This is reported by sources in law enforcement agencies.
According to them, the transformations will take place under the control of the new leadership of the agency. Among the priority tasks are strengthening areas related to intelligence and counterintelligence, as well as improving the effectiveness of efforts to combat extremism and terrorism.
Recall that on February 10, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, decided to dismiss the chairman of the State Committee for National Security and his deputies. The temporary leadership of the special service was entrusted to Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, who has been appointed as the acting head of the committee.
Along with the personnel changes, a structural reorganization occurred: the Border Service regained its status as an independent agency. In addition, a State Guard Service has been created, which will report directly to the President of the country.
