Against Violence. Italian Footballers Took to the Field in Jerseys with Women's Names
As part of the "Red Card to Violence" campaign, footballers from five teams in Italy's Serie A participated in a round where instead of surnames, women's names were displayed on their jerseys. This gesture was part of events dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
The teams "Lecce," "Cremonese," "Lazio," "Parma," and "Udinese" demonstrated their support for this initiative. Players took to the field in their matches of the 12th round of the Italian championship with red lipstick on their faces and jerseys featuring the names of mothers, daughters, wives, and girlfriends.

For example, Lazio's captain Mattia Zaccagni played against Lecce wearing a jersey with the name of his fiancée, blogger Chiara Nasti. Cremonese striker Jamie Vardy, a well-known British footballer, took to the field with the name of his wife Becky, who shared her story of experiencing violence in childhood.
