This information was announced by the mayor of the city, Kanibek Adiev, during his report to local residents on the work completed over the past year.
According to Adiev, the sports complex will be located in the Kashka-Suu microdistrict.
"Karakol has an excellent geographical location. More than 10 national teams train here, as the city is situated at a significant altitude above sea level, which plays an important role in preparing athletes for the Olympic Games," the mayor noted. He also emphasized that with the support of government bodies, the construction of this complex is being carried out for the future Olympic Games and the preparation of world-class athletes, as well as for hosting foreign athletes.
In addition, an Olympic-standard swimming pool and a hotel will be built in the complex.
Adiev also reported plans to construct a sports boarding school for 275 students, for which 5 hectares of land have been allocated. This boarding school will train in eight sports, including five types of wrestling, skiing, athletics, and weightlifting," he added.
In the mayor's opinion, the sports boarding school will create the necessary conditions for training young athletes and will also contribute to the development of athletes at both national and international levels, providing support to children in need of social assistance.
