International boxing and Greco-Roman wrestling competitions have started in the city of Manas.

On November 26, international tournaments in boxing and Greco-Roman wrestling for athletes aged 17 to 20 began at the children's and youth sports school of Olympic reserve named after Raatbek Sanatbaev in the city of Manas.

The opening of the event was attended by representatives of the presidential envoy in the region. Young athletes from seven regions of Kyrgyzstan are participating in the competitions, as well as delegations from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

The first stage of the competitions consisted of Greco-Roman wrestling matches held in five weight categories. At the same time, boxing competitions were also taking place in the new Boxing Academy. The head of the region, speaking at the opening ceremony, congratulated the participants on the start of the tournament and emphasized that sports play a key role in the upbringing of youth, the formation of patriotic feelings, and the improvement of the health of future generations.

The presidential envoy Tilek Tekebaev noted that such international tournaments contribute to strengthening friendly ties among young athletes, exchanging experiences, and improving sports skills. The competitions will last until November 29, after which freestyle wrestling matches will begin.
