AFC Cup (U-23): Uzbekistan Advances to Playoffs, Iran and Qatar Fail to Score Any Goals

The group stage of the U-23 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia has concluded, and three more teams that will participate in the quarter-finals have been determined.

On January 13, the last matches in groups B and C took place.

The Uzbekistan national team achieved victory over South Korea with a score of 2:0, allowing them to take first place in the group and advance to the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Kyrgyzstan national team had previously faced Uzbekistan in the qualifying matches for the Asian Cup in Bishkek, where the game ended in a draw, and the Kyrgyz managed to secure first place in their group.

South Korea also advanced to the quarter-finals, taking advantage of Iran's unexpected defeat to Lebanon with a score of 0:1. The Iranian team failed to score any goals in this tournament and finished in last place in their group.

Kyrgyzstan also faced the Iranian national team at the tournament in Manas, where the Kyrgyz managed to win by scoring two goals in the final part of the match, finishing the game with a score of 2:1.

The UAE national team advanced to the second stage of the tournament in second place in group C and will now face Vietnam.

Group winners Japan won all three of their matches. At the same time, the Qatar national team concluded their participation in the tournament, losing all three matches without scoring any goals.

On January 14, the final matches of the group stage will take place in group D, which will determine two more participants for the playoffs.
