Kyrgyzstan athletes have completed their performances at the Winter Olympic Games held in Italy.

Two representatives participated in the national team, competing in alpine skiing and cross-country skiing disciplines.

At the opening of the Olympics, which took place on the night of February 7, skier Artur Saparbekov was the flag bearer for Kyrgyzstan.

Saparbekov was the first Kyrgyzstani to start — on February 10, he participated in the sprint race in the classical style. A total of 95 athletes registered for this discipline, with 94 starting. Artur finished in 94th place, trailing Olympic champion Johannes Klæbo from Norway by 1 minute and 29.48 seconds.

On February 13, the skier returned to the course, participating in the 10 km freestyle race, which had 113 participants registered.

In the first half of the race, the Kyrgyzstani was within the TOP-100, but at the eighth kilometer, he fell, which cost him time. As a result, his time was 27 minutes and 46.9 seconds, and he finished in 102nd place, while the Olympic champion was again Klæbo.

On February 14, alpine skier Timur Shakirov made his debut at the Games, participating in the giant slalom race, which had 81 athletes registered.

He placed 67th in the first run and 62nd in the second, ultimately finishing 62nd among 69 finishers. The Olympic champion in this discipline was Brazilian Lucas Pinheiro Broten.

On February 16, the slalom competition took place, featuring 96 athletes. The weather conditions were unfavorable — there were snowfalls and poor visibility.

In the first run, more than half of the starters were unable to finish, including both Olympic champion Lucas Pinheiro Broten and Kyrgyzstani Timur Shakirov.

Thus, the performances of Kyrgyzstani athletes at the Winter Olympic Games came to an end.
