The top 30 skiers advanced to the quarter-finals, with the best qualifying time set by Norwegian Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, who finished in 3 minutes 7.37 seconds. Saparbekov was 1 minute 29.48 seconds behind him.
Arthur plans to participate in the 10 km freestyle race, which will take place on February 13.
