Eden Hazard, who previously played for the Belgian national team, opened up about life after ending his career in professional sports. As the former Real Madrid footballer noted, his priority now is family, not football.
Currently, Hazard lives in Spain and has turned down a return to his homeland. He explains his choice by wanting to provide a more peaceful life for his children, as well as a comfortable climate, after many years spent under the pressure of professional football.
“Time flies very quickly. Yesterday I was 19, and today I am already 35. I strive to enjoy not only the game but life in general,” he shared.
“Right now, I’m more of a taxi driver”
The former midfielder is raising five children and actively participates in their lives, driving them to school and various activities.
“I’m more of a taxi driver than a footballer, but that makes me happy,” Hazard joked.
He also added that he has no regrets about ending his career and enjoys life without the pressure and strict match schedules.
Although his sports career is over, Hazard maintains good physical shape and spends quality time with his family, having no intention of returning to professional football. He prefers to lead a quiet life away from the stadiums.
