This year, the team will compete in Group B of the second division. The event will take place from April 6 to 12 in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and will gather six teams.
The preparation for the national team will begin on March 18.
The opponents of the Kyrgyz hockey players will be teams from Israel, Iceland, New Zealand, Bulgaria, and Chinese Taipei.
The team that finishes in first place will have the opportunity to move up to Group A of the second division, while the last-placed team will leave the division and end up in the third (Group A).
In the past season, the Kyrgyzstan national team competed in the Group A tournament of the third division, which took place in Istanbul (Turkey). The Kyrgyz hockey players finished in first place and won the title of world champions.
