Conor McGregor may miss the UFC tournament at the White House

The Irishman, who has not stepped into the octagon for nearly four years (his last fight took place in July 2021), hopes to return to competition this summer. Initially, it was expected that he would compete on June 14, but McGregor has now stated that his return may take place during International Fight Week in July.

According to the fighter himself, negotiations with the organization are ongoing, and a final decision on the date and location of his next bout has not yet been made.

Among McGregor's potential opponents is American Michael Chandler, whom the Irishman was supposed to face after participating in the reality show The Ultimate Fighter.

Dana White, the head of the UFC, confirmed that McGregor is being considered as one of the contenders for participation in the tournament. It is also expected that the main event of the evening will feature a fight between heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who is negotiating a bout with light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.

The full card for the tournament will be announced soon.
