Following the meeting of the Collective Security Council held in Bishkek, President of Russia Vladimir Putin announced that starting from January 1, 2026, the chairmanship of the CSTO will pass to the Russian Federation.

He also noted that the new chairmanship will be held under the slogan "Collective Security in a Multipolar World. A Unified Goal."

"Russia will make every effort to ensure continuity in key areas of interaction within the CSTO and to enhance cooperation between our states, based on the principles of sincere partnership, friendship, and good neighborliness, as well as respect for and consideration of each other's interests," added Putin.

The President of the Russian Federation thanked his Kyrgyz colleague Sadyr Japarov for his efforts during the chairmanship in the CSTO.

In addition, Putin wished good luck to the new Secretary General of the CSTO, Taalatbek Mamassadykov, who has just taken office.

"We will, of course, provide him with all the necessary support. It has been agreed that the next meeting of the Collective Security Council will take place in Moscow on November 11, 2026. We will be glad to see you in our capital," emphasized Putin.
