At the meeting in Bishkek, Putin also expressed his pleasure at being in Kyrgyzstan, noting that the visit comes ahead of the meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) council. "We highly value Kyrgyzstan's contribution during its chairmanship in this organization," he added.

"In 2026, Russia will take over the chairmanship in the CSTO from Kyrgyzstan," the Russian president announced. He also noted that there has been significant progress in financial ties between the two countries: currently, about 97% of all transactions are conducted in national currencies, as reported by TASS.

Furthermore, Putin added that work is underway on new formats for mutual settlements. He also emphasized the positive dynamics of Russian investments in the Kyrgyz economy, which amount to nearly $2 billion.
