Speaker of the Parliament threatens to cut salaries of deputies for absenteeism

On the second day of the work of the Jogorku Kenesh, nine deputies are absent

Currently, 78 out of 87 deputies approved by the Central Election Commission are present at the parliamentary session. It is worth noting that the election results in one of the districts were annulled, and after the re-elections, three more deputies from that district are expected to return to the Jogorku Kenesh.

Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu drew the deputies' attention to the need to avoid planning other events during sessions, as many tasks have accumulated since the dissolution of the previous convocation.

“There are a number of bills that require urgent consideration, some of which need to be adopted immediately in three readings, especially those related to the economy,” emphasized the speaker.

He also urged deputies to participate more actively in committee meetings, where detailed discussions of the bills will take place.

“Those deputies who do not show up for work will face sanctions. We will reduce salaries and publish lists of absentees,” added Turgunbek uulu.
