AOOT "Azem Kilem"
The public carpet-making enterprise in the Republic was put into operation in 1985 and produced carpets, rugs, runners, and mass consumer goods made from wool and half-wool threads.
The director was appointed Nadyrbek Alymbekovich Alymbekov, who managed the plant until 1999.
On January 15, 1993, the plant was transformed into the joint-stock company "Kyrgyzkilem," signing a supply contract with German manufacturers of polypropylene thread, from which lightweight, brightly colored, water-resistant, inexpensive, and highly demanded carpet products were produced for a long time.
However, soon the situation with raw material supply worsened as prices for raw materials from Russian producers increased, causing the plant to stand idle for a long time, which significantly affected its financial and economic condition. On February 24, 1999, by the decision of the arbitration court of the Chui region, AO "Kyrgyzkilem" was declared bankrupt, leading to the restructuring of the plant, and on October 22, 1999, AOOT "Azem Kilem" was established, with Mukhanova Nurjamal Emilovna appointed as general director, having worked at the plant for many years.
The enterprise is now small, relocated to a smaller building with local heating installed. It operates ten machines, while the remaining 65 are preserved, and the staff consists of 220 people. The creative team develops new products, focusing on consumer demand and orders, and manufactures custom portrait carpets.
Production is released in smaller volumes than before, is not in demand, and is noted for awards at republican TIP exhibitions.
Joint Kyrgyz-Chinese LLC "Bakay-Inpak"
This enterprise is also part of the "Bakay" group of companies and was established in October 1998. It specializes in the production of polypropylene bags with polyethylene liners and two-color printing, intended for packaging bulk products, agricultural fertilizers, and various construction materials while adhering to environmental standards.
The designed capacity of the enterprise is 10 million bags per year, which is quite challenging to achieve due to frequent downtime of customer enterprises.
Raw materials are supplied from China and Russia. Consumers of the products are enterprises from the former Soviet Union countries.
In addition to bags, "Bakay-Inpak" has the capability to produce tarpaulins from polypropylene thread for cargo and passenger vehicles, tents for recreation, packaging for oversized goods, polyethylene sheets for bags of various capacities, greenhouse film, shrink film, etc.
In the first years, the enterprise was managed by Umraliev Osmon Usenovich, and later by Kurunkeev Azamat Telegenovich.
The head office is located in the capital of the Republic. However, products are manufactured on the periphery, at several branches. One such branch is located in the city of Kara-Balta, where women's, men's, and children's clothing is made from pure wool knitwear, along with laundry rope and household cord.
All products meet high European standards. Quality is determined by the company's laboratory at all technological stages. The laboratory employs highly qualified specialists trained in West Germany. The workshops are equipped with modern technological equipment from leading firms in Western Europe.
The products of the "Vesta" company have been repeatedly exhibited at the international Leipzig fair and received recognition, with foreign firms offering cooperation and entering into mutually beneficial contracts.
The constant market for finished products is Russia, the Central Asian republics, and Kazakhstan.
Until 1998, the director of the Kara-Balta branch was Shakhrizieva Zainap Rafailovna, and since 1998, it has been Palmtag Valentina Vasilievna.
