Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Kyzyl-Djar, Kara-Kuldzhinsky District, Osh Region.
Graduated from OGPI (1965), postgraduate studies at the Institute of Geography of the Kyrgyz SSR (1970).
Worked as a teacher, deputy principal of a secondary school, senior laboratory assistant, junior researcher at the Institute of Geography of the Kyrgyz SSR, senior researcher at the KEP, senior lecturer, associate professor, head of department, dean, head of division, professor at Osh State University, and since 1999 - director of the Institute of Fundamental and Applied Sciences at Osh State University.
Specialist in the field of physical geography. Awarded the medal of the Kyrgyz Republic (1995).
Published more than 200 scientific works, including 2 monographs, 5 textbooks, and 5 popular science books.
Under his supervision, 1 doctoral and 1 candidate dissertation have been defended.
