Akin, Singer-Komuzist, Folk Comic-Satirist Sharshen Termechikov
Akin, singer-kumuz player, folk comic-satirist Sh. Termechikov was born in the Kyonok area (now Sokuluk district of the Kirghiz SSR) in a poor family. Orphaned at an early age, he wandered from village to village, working as a laborer for wealthy landowners and manaps.
From 1929 to 1931, he managed his small peasant farm. In 1931, he was hired by the Kyrgyz Drama Theater, and from
1936 until the end of his life, he worked as a comic soloist at the Toktogul Satylganov Kyrgyz Philharmonic.
The talent of the comic-satirist in Sh. Termechikov revealed itself early. In his youth, he met in Pishpek with the well-known comic Adamkaly and learned the art of comedy from him. During this time, he traveled to villages and used his art to expose mullahs who deceived the common people. In his comic sketches, Sharshen masterfully and with remarkable psychological accuracy ridiculed the vices of people and society. His satirical works "Lullaby for the Infant," "Friend," "The Chief - a Deceiver," "My Mother's Cry," and others are well-known among Kyrgyz readers.
He is the author and performer of many comic satirical sketches, poems, and is considered a pioneer of the so-called "one-man theater" in Kyrgyzstan.
The first collection of works by Sh. Termechikov, "Sharshendin Chygarmalary" ("The Works of Sharshen"), was published in 1937. During his lifetime, another collection was published, "El kuudulu Sharshen Termechikovdun kulkулуу angemeleri jana yrlary" ("Humorous Stories of the Folk Comic").
Sh. Termechikov was a participant in the first decade of Kyrgyz art and literature in Moscow (1939).
Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR (1941).
Awarded the medal "For Labor Distinction".
