From December 8 to 14, 2025, at the multilateral automobile checkpoint "Petukhovo" (Kurgan Region), employees of the Ural Interregional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor, together with border guards and customs officers, conducted an inspection of 38 trucks that were importing over 548 tons of vegetables and fruits from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and China. This was reported in an official press release from Rosselkhoznadzor.

Of all the inspected vehicles, 36 were coming from Kazakhstan, and 2 from Kyrgyzstan. The products were being transported in transit through the Zauralye region to cities such as Perm, Surgut, Omsk, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, and Novosibirsk.

The following goods were imported into the Kurgan Region:

- 20 tons of cabbage,
- 20 tons of apples,
- 6 tons of onions,
- 14 tons of pumpkins.

During the inspection, one violation was identified: a truck carrying 18 tons of cucumbers, which arrived from Kazakhstan, did not pass through the designated checkpoint, which contradicts the quarantine requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union. The driver was held administratively liable, and the batch of vegetables was returned to Kazakhstan under the supervision of Rosselkhoznadzor.

The other 37 trucks continued their journey to their destinations without hindrance.
