- According to information from the Ministry of Economy, the gross agricultural output of Kyrgyzstan from January to October 2025 amounted to 407.4 billion soms.

Compared to the same period in 2024, there is a real growth of 2%, achieved in both crop production and livestock.

In crop production, the output increased by 0.8% due to an 8.1% rise in corn production, a 12.6% increase in fruits and berries, a 5.4% rise in melons, an 11.6% increase in vegetables, and a 3.9% rise in grapes. In the livestock sector, the output grew by 3.2%: egg production increased by 8%, milk by 2.8%, and meat by 3.1%.

However, the physical volumes of the harvest significantly decreased. The gross harvest of agricultural products amounted to 745.1 thousand tons, including 274.1 thousand tons of grains, of which 252.3 thousand tons were wheat. Additionally, 101.9 thousand tons of potatoes, 208.6 thousand tons of vegetables, 133.3 thousand tons of fodder crops, and 27.2 thousand tons of oilseeds were harvested. Overall, the volume of agricultural production decreased by 503.3 thousand tons, which is a 40% drop compared to last year.

The decline in yield affected most key crops: wheat production decreased by 35%, potatoes by 23%, vegetables by 22%, fodder crops by 46%, and oilseeds by 49%. According to preliminary estimates, domestic production will be able to meet 62.5% of the country's needs for wheat, 76.9% for potatoes, and 72.6% for vegetables.

The main reason for the sharp decrease in the harvest was unfavorable weather conditions. From May to July, there was a lack of precipitation in agricultural regions, and air temperatures reached 37–39.5 °C, while soil temperatures rose to 65–69.6 °C. For 7–10 days, soil temperatures exceeded 40 °C, leading to plant stress, reduced moisture reserves, and impaired growth. Additionally, the situation was complicated by local rains and hail in mid-summer.

However, in August and October, weather conditions improved, allowing for the harvest to begin 7–10 days earlier than usual. The earlier and more uniform ripening positively impacted the quality of the products, and the wheat ripened evenly, characterized by a high gluten content.

The contribution of agriculture to GDP creation during the specified period was 0.20 percentage points, and the sector's share in the GDP structure reached 9.5%.
