The area of the site is approximately 80 hectares. On this territory, it is planned to set up laboratories dedicated to fruit and berry crops, as well as to create a special experimental botanical laboratory.
The deputy director emphasized that research is already being conducted in this area, and the conditions in the laboratory for fruit and berry crops have been significantly improved. Albanov specified that the zone occupied by fruit and berry crops covers 70 hectares, and further development is planned for the future.
Currently, work on clearing the underbrush is being carried out in the lower part of the Botanical Garden, on the section from Akhunbaev Street to Sukhe-Bator. As soon as this work is completed, specialists will move on to the next stage — clearing the territory from Sukhe-Bator Street to the Southern Highway. According to Albanov, the appearance of this area will also be improved.
At the same time, he noted that this part of the garden will not be completely closed to visitors: entrances will be provided, and fences will be installed.
Albanov also mentioned that in some countries, botanical gardens operate on a paid admission basis. If the open area is tidied up and comfortable conditions are created, the issue of introducing an entrance fee may be considered in the future.
In addition, the deputy director clarified that the facilities currently being created in the lower part of the garden — such as mini-football fields and playgrounds — do not have a commercial purpose.
