PM2.5 refers to fine particles with a diameter of less than 2.5 microns, which are 30 times smaller than a human hair. They consist of dust, ash, soot, as well as sulfates and nitrates present in the air. These substances contribute to the air pollution observed in large cities.
As of February 9, Bishkek ranks 19th in the world air quality ranking (5:00 PM).
