Storm Warning: Avalanche and Ice Conditions Expected

From February 19 to 22, avalanches, snow drifts, snow cover, and ice are forecasted in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan. This information was announced by Kyrgyzhydromet.

Dangerous weather conditions are expected on the following roads:

— Bishkek — Osh, 121–138 km (Töö-Ashuu pass);

— Bishkek — Osh, 198–265 km (Ala-Bel pass, Chychkan gorge);

— Myrza-Ake — Kara-Kulja — Alayku, 55–115 km;

— Ala-Buka — Kanysh-Kiya, 45–112 km (Chapchyma pass);

— Krasnaya Gorka — Akhtash, 0–3 km;

— Sary-Tash — Daroot-Korgon — Karamyk, 97–98 km;

— Bishkek — Naryn — Torugart, 292–305 km (Dolon pass);

— Aral — Ming-Kush, 1–14 km;

— Aral — Suusamyr, 8–21 km;

— Balikchy — Kazarman — Jalal-Abad, 201–205 km, 260–290 km, and 326–349 km (Kök-Art pass);

— Karakol — Enilchek, 45–90 km (Chon-Ashuu pass).

Drivers are urged to exercise special caution in areas prone to avalanches and maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.

Meteorologists advise taking the weather forecast into account when planning trips to mountainous regions.
