Storm Warning: Avalanches Expected in Mountain Areas from February 14-16

From February 14 to 16, there is a forecasted risk of snow avalanches in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan, as well as snow drifts, ice, and glaze ice.

According to Kyrgyz Hydrometeorology, avalanches may descend on the following roads:

- Bishkek-Osh, sections from 121 to 138 km (Töö-Ashuu Pass),

- Bishkek-Osh, sections from 198 to 265 km (Ala-Bel Pass, Chychkan Gorge),

- Suusamyr-Talas-Taraz, sections from 1 to 14 km (Ötmäk Pass),

- Myrza-Ake-Kara-Kulja-Alayku, sections from 55 to 115 km,

- Ala-Buka-Kanysh-Kiya, sections from 45 to 112 km (Chapchyma Pass),

- Krasnaya-Gorka-Aktash, 0-3 km, Sary-Tash-Daroot-Korgon-Karamyk, 97-98 km,

- Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart, sections from 292 to 305 km (Dolon Pass),

- Aral-Ming-Kush, sections from 1 to 14 km, Aral-Suusamyr, sections from 8 to 21 km,

- Balikchy-Kazarman-Jalal-Abad, sections from 326 to 349 km (Kök-Art Pass) and

- Karakol-Enilchek, sections from 45 to 90 km (Chon-Ashuu Pass).

When passing through avalanche-prone areas on the roads, it is recommended to maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
