Yandex Go specialists conducted a study that showed that scooters in Kyrgyzstan are mainly used for transportation. The first rides are usually recreational, but after the first two times, more than 70% of users switch to regular trips. The average duration of a ride, both during the day and at night, is 11 minutes.
More than 30% of routes taken by active users who made over 10 trips from March to August are repeated. This means that such trips are made to places that have been visited at least five times during the season. Peak hours for scooter usage are from 6-7 AM and 4-5 PM. Night rides (from 11 PM to 6 AM) account for 15% of the total number, when public transport is not operational, making scooters a great alternative to buses and minibuses for a quick return home.
Shared scooters help users save on city transportation, as there are no costs associated with maintaining personal vehicles. Additionally, scooter rides are often cheaper than other modes of transport.
Time savings are also a significant advantage. During the season, users of kick-sharing who chose scooters over walking saved more than 233,000 hours.
