More than 57,000 Kyrgyz citizens have imposed a self-ban on obtaining loans

The National Bank reports that in November 2023, 57,005 citizens of Kyrgyzstan set a self-ban on obtaining loans through the Tunduk mobile application.

This self-restriction mechanism was implemented in the republic starting November 1, 2025, and is aimed at protecting the population from fraud and illegal loan arrangements.

In July, the president signed amendments to a number of legislative acts concerning credit information and the self-ban mechanism for entering into loan agreements.

The National Bank proposed to amend the Law "On the Exchange of Credit Information," which includes:


Banking institutions are required to check for the presence of a self-ban with clients before entering into loan agreements and to refuse if such a ban exists.
