According to Aliyev, the self-ban mechanism will be activated through the Tunduk application, and to lift this ban, one will need to wait 12 hours.

Aliyev also noted that this measure will primarily aim to protect citizens from fraud in online lending.

The amendments to the legislation concerning this initiative were adopted on July 30, 2025. They imply that the self-ban will apply not only to banks but also to loans obtained through non-bank financial organizations. According to the regulator's methodology, such organizations include credit unions, microfinance and microcredit companies, as well as microcredit agencies.

The National Bank clarified that if a loan is issued during the period of the self-ban, such a loan agreement will be considered legally invalid.

Banks and other financial institutions will be required to check for the existence of a self-ban through credit bureaus.
