The nutritional standards for citizens of Kyrgyzstan were approved by the government back in 2009. According to this document, each citizen of the country is required to consume nine types of products monthly.
The approved standard includes: 9 kg of bread products, 5 kg of meat, 8.2 kg of potatoes, 9 kg of vegetables, 10 kg of fruits and berries, 2 kg of sugar, 17 liters of milk, 1 liter of vegetable oil, 4 eggs, 100 g of fish, and 200 g of tea.

According to the minimum standards set by the state, we calculated the cost of the consumer basket for a family of four. The prices of products in one of the supermarkets in Bishkek were used as a basis. Recently, many residents prefer to shop in large stores.
It should be noted that the calculations of product consumption are approximate and based on state norms. Considering that everyone has their own diet, our basket should not be perceived as the only truth. It is more of a social experiment by 24.kg.
The bread products include both bread and pasta and cereals. Our family is average in composition, so we choose apples and bananas as fruits, and among vegetables — onions, carrots, peppers, cabbage, cucumbers, and tomatoes. No excess, just the essentials.
