As a result, over the past seven days, the cost of the minimum set of products decreased by 109 soms and amounted to 6,423 soms.
We conduct weekly observations in the same supermarket, recording prices for the same range of products. Below is detailed information about the composition of our grocery basket and the reasons for price changes.
It should be noted that prices in supermarkets and markets may vary. Stores often have promotions that allow customers to purchase goods at reduced prices.
Analysis shows that since the beginning of our monitoring in late October 2018, the cost of the grocery basket has increased by 3,161 soms. Compared to the same period last year, it has decreased by 124 soms, while since the beginning of 2025, it has increased by 356 soms.
Bread has proven to be the most affordable product in our basket. Fresh vegetables and fruits have the greatest impact on its cost, which is why prices often fluctuate.
During 2024, the grocery basket became cheaper by 743 soms, with the lowest recorded price on September 14 — 5,510 soms. The highest price level was noted on April 13 — 7,018 soms.

Back in 2009, the government established nutritional norms for the citizens of Kyrgyzstan. According to this data, each person should consume nine types of products monthly.
The established norms include: 9 kilograms of bread products, 5 kilograms of meat, 8.2 kilograms of potatoes, 9 kilograms of vegetables, 10 kilograms of fruits and berries, 2 kilograms of sugar, 17 liters of milk, 1 liter of vegetable oil, 4 eggs, 100 grams of fish and fish products, and 200 grams of tea.

Based on the minimum norms established by the state, we calculated the cost of the consumer basket for a family of four, relying on prices in one of Bishkek's supermarkets. Recently, many city residents prefer to shop in large stores.
It is worth noting that the calculations for product consumption are approximate and based solely on the approved norms. It should also be taken into account that each person may have their own dietary preferences. Thus, our basket should not be perceived as the ultimate truth. It is more of a social experiment by 24.kg.
By "bread products," we mean not only bread but also pasta and cereals. Our family is considered average, so they prefer apples and bananas among fruits, and onions, carrots, peppers, cabbage, cucumbers, and tomatoes among vegetables. The basket contains only the most essential products.
