According to the week's results, the cost of the minimum set of products decreased by 28 soms, totaling 6,753 soms.
We conduct weekly monitoring of prices for the same assortment of goods in one supermarket. Below is detailed information about the products included in our basket and the reasons for their selection.
It should be noted that prices in supermarkets may differ from market prices, as stores often have discounts on certain products.
Analysis shows that since the beginning of our monitoring in late October 2018, the cost of the grocery basket has increased by 3,629 soms. Compared to the same period in 2024, it has risen by 853 soms, and since the beginning of the year — by 689 soms.
The least expensive product in our basket remains bread. Prices for fresh vegetables and fruits have the greatest impact on the overall cost of the basket, which explains its fluctuations.
Throughout 2024, the grocery basket decreased in price by 743 soms. The minimum cost was recorded on September 14 — 5,510 soms, while the maximum was on April 13 — 7,018 soms.

The nutritional standards for citizens of Kyrgyzstan were approved by the government back in 2009. According to these standards, every resident of the country should consume 9 types of products monthly.
The approved norms include: 9 kilograms of bread products, 5 kilograms of meat, 8.2 kilograms of potatoes, 9 kilograms of vegetables, 10 kilograms of fruits and berries, 2 kilograms of sugar, 17 liters of milk, 1 liter of vegetable oil, 4 eggs, 100 grams of fish and fish products, as well as 200 grams of tea.

Considering the minimum standards set by the state, we calculated the cost of the consumer basket for a family of four, based on prices in one of the supermarkets in Bishkek. Recently, many residents of the city prefer to shop in large stores.
Of course, the calculations are based on average data, as not everyone has the same dietary preferences. Some people may not include meat in their diet, while others may avoid sugar. Therefore, our basket should be viewed as a social experiment by 24.kg, rather than as an ultimate truth.
Grain products include both bread and pasta and cereals. Our family generally prefers apples and bananas among fruits, and onions, carrots, peppers, cabbage, cucumbers, and tomatoes among vegetables. This is the minimum set, without excesses.
