The new high-voltage substation "Suu-Bashy," operating at levels of 110/35/10 kV, was opened in Batken. The launch of this facility took place during the visit of the Minister of Energy Talaybek Ibraev to the region.

At the opening ceremony, the minister emphasized that there is an increasing demand for electricity every year, which requires constant expansion of capacities and generation, especially in light of the growth of residential complexes and industrial enterprises.

“Electricity consumption continues to grow. In 2025, it is planned to build new substations, modernize the hydro units of large hydropower plants, and put into operation small hydropower plants and solar power stations. Each new substation is critically important for providing the population with electricity and heat. We must move forward,” noted T. Ibraev.

The "Suu-Bashy" substation covers an area of 500 square meters. This project was implemented in cooperation between the OJSC "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" and the Batken City Hall. The total cost of the work amounted to 55 million 758 thousand soms: 19 million 958 thousand soms were allocated to the Batken Electric Networks for the purchase of additional materials, while 35 million 800 thousand soms were spent on equipment from the city hall. All construction work was carried out by local specialists.

With the commissioning of this substation, stable and quality electricity supply will be provided to the residents of the village of Jangy-Dostuk, the industrial zone, the residential area "Batken City," the new stadium with 10,000 seats, as well as 2,224 houses in the Chet-Bulak quarter and the village of Buzhum, where a Russian school is being built with support from Russia.

In addition, the new substation will supply electricity to other substations: Kara-Bulak, Kara-Tokoy-1, Kara-Tokoy-2, and Shirech at the level of 35/10 kV. It is connected to a new 110 kV overhead power line "Aigul-Tash – Central," located just 150 meters away.

At the event, new vehicles and special equipment were handed over to the Batken Electric Enterprise to increase productivity: three JAC N8 vehicles, one JAC N56, and an SHANMON excavator.
