The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kyrgyzstan reviewed a request received from the Internal Affairs Department of the Naryn region regarding permission to hold a candidate for the Jogorku Kenesh criminally liable.
After analyzing the submitted petition, the CEC of Kyrgyzstan decided to deny its approval.
The request from the Naryn Internal Affairs Department was registered on November 22, 2025, and concerned permission for the criminal prosecution of the candidate in electoral district No. 30, Beyshenaly Nurdinov, including his detention and arrest.
According to the Internal Affairs Department of the Naryn region, a criminal case was initiated on October 30, 2025, on the grounds of a crime provided for in part 2 of Article 196 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to bribery of voters. During the investigative actions, it was revealed that candidate B. Nurdinov, along with a relative, handed over 45,000 soms to citizen S. Taychimanov with the aim of influencing the election results.
At the same time, on November 22, 2025, a statement was received by the CEC from the candidate's wife, A. Kasymbekova. She claimed that on November 20, she lent the specified amount to S. Taychimanov and provided a receipt to confirm this transaction.
Taking into account all the circumstances, the CEC decided to leave the petition unapproved in order to conduct an additional, comprehensive, and objective investigation.
