At a meeting held at the CSTO, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Alexander Pankin, discussed the importance of joint work to achieve the priorities that will define the Russian chairmanship. The Secretary General of the organization, Taalatbek Masadikov, who began his duties on January 1, 2026, emphasized the need to strengthen allied ties and the role of the CSTO in ensuring equal and indivisible security in the Eurasian space.

Pankin also stressed that Russia will work closely with allied states to form a unified approach to international security issues. An important aspect will be the development of Collective Forces, as well as increasing joint efforts in the fight against modern threats. He noted that the focus will be on enhancing analytical work with the help of leading research centers from the CSTO member states.

On behalf of Russia, Pankin congratulated Masadikov on his appointment as Secretary General of the CSTO, expressing confidence in successful cooperation and comprehensive support.
