Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that in recent years, the country's defense capability has significantly increased. Compared to 2018 and 2019, the budget of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic has increased by more than 300%. These funds are directed towards modernizing the material and technical base, equipping the army with modern weapons and equipment, as well as developing the infrastructure of military units and garrisons. Modern samples of weapons, military, and special equipment have been acquired, including air defense systems and electronic warfare systems.
The head of the cabinet of ministers also reported on the progress of digitalization in the Ministry of Defense. The processes of document flow, accounting for civilian personnel, and military registration have been optimized. Currently, the electronic military registration system is operating in pilot mode in five military commissariats, and by the end of March, it will be implemented in another 25.
The chairman of the cabinet of ministers also highlighted social support measures for military personnel. In particular, the daily compensation for housing rent in Bishkek has increased to 500 soms, and in the regions, it has risen to 420 soms. For military personnel in Bishkek, a monthly compensation for mortgage housing of 18,000 soms is provided, while in the regions, it is 15,000 soms. Those who have served for more than 20 years will receive compensation for mortgage repayment from the state. Additionally, military personnel can purchase mortgage housing in their chosen region. In the near future, more than 900 apartments will be provided for military personnel of the Ministry of Defense through the State Mortgage Company in buildings that are in the final stages of construction.
