Sara Fynchyn, a 14-year-old resident of Karakol, started skiing nine years ago.

The girl was born on May 30, 2011, and is currently in the 9th grade at School No. 2 named after Baisara uulu Kydyr Ake. Her mother named her Sara in honor of her grandmother, which has become a symbol of respect and memory. For Sara, sports is not just a hobby but a way of life.

The choice of skiing was predetermined by the passion of her older brother, who also participated in this sport. “Since childhood, I wanted to be close to him and asked my parents to take me to training sessions. Eventually, this sport became an important part of my life,” Sara shares.

Sara's first competition took place when she was only 7 years old, and she took first place. “That moment was significant for me. I still keep the certificate from that competition in a frame next to my medals. It reminds me of the beginning of my sports journey,” the athlete says.

Despite the excitement before the start, Sara believes it helps her focus. “I get nervous, but it allows me to mobilize and concentrate on the course. At the moment of the start, all unnecessary thoughts disappear, and I just carry out my task,” she notes.

In Sara's opinion, psychology plays a key role in sports. An athlete needs to be able to cope with excitement and expectations, especially in major competitions where one run can determine everything. “Accepting defeats is difficult. Although the support of those around me helps, for me, victory means first place. All other results are opportunities to work even harder, although they teach me not to give up,” she explains.

Recently, S. Fynchyn participated in competitions among participants born in 2011-2012 and took first place among athletes from Naryn, Karakol, and Bishkek, confirming her high level of preparation.

Sara does not single out one specific victory. Each competition and medal is important to her in its own way — they are stages of her growth and experience. She is confident that her greatest achievements are still ahead.

Over the years of training, Sara has had several coaches, each of whom contributed to her development. For the first five years, she trained at the private club "Krokus" under the guidance of Irina Viktorovna Volkova and Ilya Nikolaevich Kizilov, who helped her develop a sporting character and interest in professional sports. For the past four years, she has been training at the city children's and youth sports school (DYuSSh) under the guidance of Sharshen uulu Ulan. Training sessions take place daily.

“Our training starts with a warm-up, then we work on the slope, honing our technique,” she says.

School and sports occupy almost all her time. Sometimes she has to ask to be excused from classes to make it to training, and sometimes there is even no time for a snack. But Sara tries to keep up with everything and does not lower her standards for herself.

Family is Sara's main support: her older brother, younger brother, and sister always support her. “My loved ones are my support. They share in my joys of victory and help me cope with difficulties. Their support is invaluable to me,” she adds.

Although Sara does not have a single idol, she is inspired by many top athletes and their perseverance. Since childhood, she has dreamed of competing in international competitions and winning prizes. “I want to participate in major competitions and achieve new results, gradually rising to the international level. It is important for me not to stop at what I have achieved,” the athlete says.

Currently, S. Fynchyn is fully focused on sports. For her, it is not just training but a whole world that occupies almost all her time. “Dream boldly, train hard, and never stop on the path to your dream,” she concludes.
