According to the president, the practice of commissioning 100 industrial facilities each year has become sustainable.
He noted that over the past five years, new enterprises have been launched in the light, heavy, and processing industries of the country, which has positively impacted the economy by creating new jobs and increasing tax revenues.
Japarov highlighted agriculture, stating that Kyrgyzstan continues to be an agrarian country, where a large part of the population works in the agricultural sector.
“Agriculture is the fate of millions of people, as 60% of the population of the republic is employed in the agricultural sphere. Caring for agriculture is caring for the people of Kyrgyzstan,” he emphasized.
The president added that support for the agricultural sector over the past five years has been considered one of the main directions of state policy, which has yielded tangible results. According to him, the volume of agricultural production during this period amounted to 2 trillion soms.
He also reported that Kyrgyzstan has already begun to independently provide itself with six out of nine socially significant food products that previously had to be imported.
“We have plans to ensure our self-sufficiency with the remaining food products,” the head of state added.
Furthermore, he noted that about 60 categories of agricultural products are exported from Kyrgyzstan to 80 countries around the world. Japarov emphasized that such achievements have become possible thanks to the joint efforts of cooperatives, the state, processing and industrial enterprises, as well as farmers.
